These are my choice projects. They are two larger bowls, which are short and wide. I glazed these with simple designs made with stains, and then were dipped in white. This glaze caused my designs to run, which is why the glaze didn't turn out as exprected but I still really enjoy how it looks.
This is my choice project. It is 4 inches tall and 4 inches wide. I just made a small bowl and glazed it with clear. I chose the simple glaze to represent my theme of simplicity. I think that the simple glaze really helps to showcase the structure of the project.
These are my wheel altered projects. I made two projects, one which is a vase and another which is a bowl. I glaze them both with clear and then added glaze as I thought looked appropriate. splatter painted the bowl with tomato red and scrap glaze and then with the vase I painted I <3 MOM on it to give it some "cuteness". I really like how it turned out!
This is my set of three. Within this set I created a tea set. I made a teapot with pops of color, which I put on my teapot as stars. I used the 3-D stars in order to give the project dimension and then kept the other two project just a simple clear glaze to make the teapot be seen a sort of accent piece for the project.
This is my tall project it is 6 inches tall by 2 inches wide. the height of the project made it a really nice size to have a handle making it a mug. the use of the hand helps to make the project look proportional. It is taller than it is wide. The use of the glaze makes the eyes go straight to the center and gives texture on a very simple mug.
This is my set of two bowls. these bowls are very similar in structure, but different in size and shape. In bowl one (shadow green bowl) I made the bowl shorter and wider, whle in bowl #2 I made it taller and proportionate to its height. I glazed these differently to make them look different. I did the stripes on the taller bowl to extensuate its height making it look taller and slimmer. This was done in a way that really exentuated the good features of bowl like their structure and shape.
